Angels Score Late to Nip Kings, 7-6
The performance of Robert Carter proved critical in helping Providence beat New York, 7-6, in 14 innings. The Angels left fielder went 3-6 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2. Herbert Sturdy earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Providence has a record of 1-6.

Carter had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a 1-0 sinker from Rich McCrary, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Angels a 7-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Carter.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Carter told the Providence Citizen.
