Saint Louis Takes League Cup
|
After eliminating the Chicago Doves 4-0 in the League Cup at World Fair Field, the victorious Saint Louis Reds will now move on to the next round: the Legacy Cup.
Saint Louis beat Chicago 3-1 in the series. The MVP trophy was awarded to Reds catcher Dallas Coles, who knocked in 1 runs, hit .600 and scored 3 times.
"The guys were all chanting 'M-V-P' when I went into the clubhouse," Coles said later, with a smile. "It was kind of embarrassing but it feels great to be here."
The Saint Louis Reds will play against the Brooklyn Whales in the next round. Brooklyn won their series against the Richmond Rifles 3 games to 0. The Legacy Cup schedule will be announced after the League Cup finishes.
