Legacy Cup Game 1 Victory for Lee and Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Whales started the Legacy Cup in style, downing the visiting Twin City Empire at Field of the Whales by a score of 7-4 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-9 series. Whales right-hander Everette Lee threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball.

In the bottom of the third, Brooklyn third baseman Robert Bennion had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Bennion stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-1, Brooklyn. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI.

"We're happy," Lee told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Field of the Whales in Brooklyn.
