Banshees Clip Whales, 3-2, in R1 Contest

The Boston Banshees moved to within one game of the Legacy Cup, downing the visiting Brooklyn Whales at The Boston Yards by a score of 3-2. Banshees left-hander Pierce Adney had a strong outing in which he threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Banshees a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 League Cup.
Adney was effective against the Whales, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The left-hander limited Brooklyn to just 2 runs on 3 hits over 8 innings.
"I managed to get ahead of guys and keep them at bay," said Adney.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Boston Yards in Boston.
