Richmond Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 4-1
The Richmond Rifles got a strong game from starter Garrett Dixon, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Rifles took the 3-2 win over the Cleveland Athletics in Game 5 of the Round 2 in a 10th inning walk-off today. The win capped off a fine outing for the left-handed Dixon. Dixon threw 10.0 innings of 8-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Rifles to narrow their deficit to 1-4 in the best-of-9 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Richmond center fielder Caleb Williamson, facing Constant Payne, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Rifles the 3-2 win.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Dixon.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Libby Hill in Richmond.
