Win Extends Athletics Lead to 4-0 Over Brewers
|
The Cleveland Athletics got a strong performance from pitcher Matthew Holiday, who stymied the visiting Philadelphia Brewers en route to a win, 6-1, in Game 4 of the Legacy Cup today. The Brewers could never get a bead on the right-handed Holiday, who threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Athletics now hold a 4-0 in the best-of-9 series.
Holiday allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 9 innings for the Athletics. He walked 1 and struck out 4.
"Matthew -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Athletics manager Troy Bujak. "He was the key to us winning."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bozeman Municipal Park in Cleveland.
