Packers Lose By a Run at Pittsburgh
The Chicago Packers got a sterling performance from pitcher Carlo Stillman, but the Pittsburgh Oilers still prevailed, 5-4. Stillman threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Oilers improved their record to 52-68 with the win over Chicago.

Had James Adams not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Adams hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Oilers.

"It was a solid team effort," said Adams after the game.
