Doves Need Extra Frames to Get Past Athletics
|
Fans who congregated at Bozeman Municipal Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Cincinnati Doves racked up a win at Bozeman Municipal Park, bumping off the Cleveland Athletics, 7-2, in 11 innings. William Baker, who started for Cincinnati, pitched effectively for his team. The Doves sit in 6th place in the Western Division with a record of 49-53.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Thad Faber to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Doves on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Baker.
