Reds Win Thriller, 6-5
|
The Saint Louis Reds beat the Cleveland Athletics, 6-5 -- though it took them 10 innings. Saint Louis left fielder Frank Butler had a pretty good game. He was 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Now 38-61, Cleveland has dropped 11 games in a row.
The Reds relied on catcher Paul Bradstreet for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Losing makes me cranky," said Cleveland manager Ulysses Barr. "And right now there's a big black storm cloud above my head."
