Reds Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
The Saint Louis Reds got a strong performance from pitcher Orin Tipper, who stymied the Detroit offense en route to a win, 3-2, at The Old Grounds. Saint Louis now has a record of 47-47 with the win.
Saint Louis used the timely hitting of Okey Sibthorp to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Reds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Sibthorp.
