The Detroit Giants in 14 innings beat the Pittsburgh Oilers, 4-1, at Oilers Ballpark. Starting pitcher Armando Dymond was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. With the win, the Giants hiked their record to 47-44.
Dymond, who was born in Clovis, California, threw 125 pitches over 10 innings, while allowing 1 run.
"Armando did what Armando does," said Detroit manager Cecil Hunter.
