Oilers Down Empire, 4-3
|
The Peoples Park of Minnesota was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Pittsburgh Oilers and Twin City Empire.
The Pittsburgh Oilers had to overcome a fine effort from Twin City pitcher Beryl Torr to win, 4-3, in 10 innings at The Peoples Park of Minnesota. Torr went 8.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Pittsburgh, at 40-49, holds down 5th place in the Western Division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Alfred Miller? The two-time Grande Snagger winner Miller stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Miller.
