Reds Top Packers, 5-2
|
The Saint Louis Reds tallied a win at Reds Ballpark, throttling the Chicago Packers, 5-2. Starting pitcher Roy Cooper was a big reason for his team's success. Jeffrey Broome earned the save, his 14th. Chicago's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Saint Louis got a big at-bat from Walled Lake, Michigan native Frank Butler, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run triple. It was his 8th triple of the season and put the Reds ahead, 4-1.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Cooper.
