Late Heroics Net Packers 5-4 Win
|
The Twin City Empire got a superb performance from pitcher Gust Bromilow, but the Chicago Packers still won the game, 5-4. Bromilow threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. With the win, Chicago upped its record to 40-34.
The Packers got a clutch hit from left fielder Silas Westlock. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Packers.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Westlock said.
