Cincinnati got a decent performance from pitcher Bonnie Kaye, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cleveland Athletics. Cleveland won the Bozeman Municipal Park contest, 6-5. Kaye threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The Cleveland win streak is now 3 games.

Long Beach, California-born Basil Brown came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Athletics trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Cleveland on top.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Brown, "and then get after it again."
