Cleveland and Chicago got after it at Powers Field.

The Cleveland Athletics picked up a win at Powers Field, knocking off the Chicago Packers, 7-5. Starting pitcher Leonard Tansell was a big reason why. The Athletics saw their record improve to 28-36.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Loyal Wright to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Athletics on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Wright told the Cleveland News. "It's as simple as that."
