Florenci Taylor made an impact in the 7-6 Detroit win over Saint Louis. Taylor, who is tied for 10th in the WL in triples with 4, went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Giants raised their record to 19-30.

With Detroit leading 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Taylor hit a run-scoring single off Saint Louis hurler Gaetano Sunderland. It was the 34th hit of the season for Taylor and put his team ahead, 7-3.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Cecil Hunter.
