Oilers Even Record with 5-1 Victory
|
Pittsburgh Oilers pitcher Ralph Hall was in fine form, leading his team past the Cleveland Athletics, 5-1. Hall yielded 1 run over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 6-4. The win for the Oilers raised their record to 25-25.
Alfred Miller had a big 2-run triple for the Oilers in the top of the first inning. With Pittsburgh leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Leonard Tansell, who is a three-time Pitcher of the Year Award winner, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 5th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Oilers ahead, 4-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hall said after the game.
