Down to Defeat Goes Cleveland, 4-1
|
Chicago and Cleveland duked it out and the Packers came out victorious.
The Chicago Packers picked up a win at Powers Field, defeating the Cleveland Athletics, 4-1. Starting pitcher Carlo Stillman was an essential part of his team's success. The winning pitcher was Stillman, now 7-4. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Powers Field crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"I made a lot of good pitches," said Stillman. "I was right where I wanted to be."
The win for the Packers lifted their record to 23-20.
