Cooper, Saint Louis Top Athletics, 3-0
|
Right-hander Roy Cooper mesmerized the Cleveland Athletics while leading the Saint Louis Reds to a 3-0 victory. The Reds raised their record to 23-17.
Cooper earned the win, going 8.2 strong innings for Saint Louis. The native of Phoenix, Arizona, allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Cleveland hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.
"Roy did a tremendous job," said Saint Louis manager Red "Fox" Williams.
