Athletics Win with Late Rally
Good production from shortstop Boris Sprague helped the Cleveland Athletics topple the Twin City Empire, 6-5. Sprague was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Athletics. The Athletics now own a record of 13-16.

The decisive blow was delivered by Elisha Ward in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing right-hander Alton Kirkup to win the game for Cleveland. The home crowd went nuts.

"Exciting game to play in," said Sprague. "Getting the win makes it even better."
