Due in large part to right fielder Edward Cornford, the Cleveland Athletics sunk the Detroit Giants, 5-2. Cornford went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. Otha Murfin collected save number 2. The Giants are now 6-12.

Timothy Clifford helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to give Cleveland a 1-0 lead.
