Late Rally Earns Detroit 6-2 Win
|
The Detroit Giants converted a terrific effort from starter James Watkins into a win over the Cleveland Athletics at The Old Grounds. The Giants won the game by a final score of 6-2. The loss makes Cleveland 9-7.
Had Norman Brunt not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Brunt hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Giants.
"We'll build on this win," said Brunt.
