Athletics Turn Back Twin City, 2-1
|
The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Cleveland Athletics claimed a close win over the Twin City Empire, due in large part to Joseph Tibbetts. The Cleveland right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. For the Empire, the loss makes their record 6-11.
Cleveland took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Elroy Soame hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Athletics.
"Tough loss," said Twin City manager Country Hardy. "Tough one to swallow."
