The New York Kings faced a tough opponent in Richmond pitcher Hector Leacroft, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Libby Hill by a final score of 6-5. Leacroft went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. The winning pitcher was former first round draft pick Henry Selvey. He tossed 113 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits. The Kings go to 53-41, putting them third in the Eastern Division.

Ernest Marks came through with a big-time hit for New York. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Marks.
