Whales Earn Late 4-3 Win
|
The Brooklyn Whales knocked off the Richmond Rifles, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Libby Hill. Brooklyn pitcher and Olympia, Washington, native Everette Lee had an outstanding performance. Lee, now 20-9, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The first-place Whales have won 5 in a row.
Clovis Juby made it 4-3, in favor of Brooklyn when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Whales went on to win.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Juby said.
