New York and Boston played a hard-fought contest.

Boston got a big-time effort from pitcher Merrill Marsham, but it wasn't enough to keep the New York Kings from winning the game, 3-2. Marsham threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Gus Young picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 11-3. Duncan Werrett suffered the loss. Clarence Biscoe picked up the save, his 4th.

New York went up, 3-2, on Isaiah Godbolt's 9th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Godbolt hit in the top of the ninth, left Boston pitcher Duncan Werrett shaking his head.

Godbolt told a New York Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The win makes New York 47-44.
