Brewers Win at Providence, 7-2
|
The Philadelphia Brewers stymied the Providence Angels, 7-2, at Cartwright Stadium. Harry Anderson had a good day at the plate. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for Philadelphia. Picking up the win was Troy Duerden. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 1 and walked 2. The Angels have now dropped 5 straight.
Philadelphia used a well-timed hit by Salvador Pallister to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Brewers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Pallister.
