The Boston Banshees topped the Providence Angels, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Cartwright Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Providence, Utah, native Merrill Marsham. The third-place Banshees are 48-40.

Had Walter Dingwall not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Dingwall hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Banshees.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Dingwall said.
