Banshees Paste 7-6 Loss on Rifles
|
With shortstop Ashley Trudgeon leading the charge, the Boston Banshees defeated the Richmond Rifles, 7-6, at Libby Hill. Trudgeon, who is tied for 10th in the EL in triples with 8, went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. By defeating Richmond, the third-place Banshees improved to 44-39.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Walter Dingwall, the 27-year old first baseman . Dingwall contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Boston up, 7-6.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jesse Smith.
