Clippers Slap 4-3 Loss on Bakers
New York got a decent performance from pitcher Robert Batkin, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baltimore Clippers. Baltimore won the Bakers Field contest, 4-3. Batkin threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The win has Baltimore at 25-57.

Baltimore used the timely hitting of Elroy Fowler to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Clippers ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Fowler told the Baltimore Times. "And padding the Baltimore win column."
