Angels Absorb 5-1 Home Loss
|
Richmond Rifles starter Chester Jacks pitched his team past the Providence Angels, 5-1. In 9 innings, Jacks surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. The loss makes Providence 35-44.
Celestin Robley went 1 for 4 for Richmond. The 1897 Greenhorn Cup winner had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tillman Maddaford. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Robley.
