Clippers Cut Down Bakers, 4-2
|
New York got a decent performance from pitcher Robert Batkin, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baltimore Clippers. Baltimore won the Carroway Field contest, 4-2. Batkin threw 7.0 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. The loss makes New York 29-34.
In the top of the ninth, Hoyt Barnes stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Bakers were trailing 4-2, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Eric Brisley made a terrific pitch and Barnes lined out. Gone was the dream of a New York comeback.
