The Providence Angels and Richmond Rifles obliged fans looking for a good time.

Despite a great performance by Richmond right fielder Caleb Williamson, the Providence Angels defeated the Rifles by the score of 9-8 at Cartwright Stadium. Williamson went 3 for 5 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Audie Darwin earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-5. Christop Burnard locked down his 1st save.

Had Bob Fox not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Fox hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Angels.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Fox.

The 7th-place Angels now have a record of 30-34.
