Braves Win Round 1 Wednesday, September 15th , 1982 The Pulaski Braves pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the Round 1 in a hard-fought series with the Kingsport Mets. It was a seesaw affair, but with a 3-0 victory at Johnson Stadium, Pulaski lay claim to the franchise's 1st championship. "There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Joe Morales. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today." The champs finished the regular season 49-21 and claimed first place in the Appalachian League North. A victory parade is set to be scheduled in Pulaski in the days to come. |
