Atlanta, Seattle Finalize Trade Monday, August 1st , 1983 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Braves announced today the acquisition of 26-year old LHP Bud Black from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick and a 5th round draft pick. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Braves, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." This year, Black has registered 5 wins and 12 losses in 23 starts with a 3.94 ERA while registering 84 strikeouts and 80 walks in 173.2 innings. |
