Sultan of Swing: Quander Goes Deep 3 Times
Monday, January 17th , 2033
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Chase Quander can celebrate.
The Costa Rica Clam Bumpers second baseman powered three into the stands at Heroes Park against the Cuban Missiles.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Quander told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Clam Bumpers toppled Cuban by a score of 17-4, knocking in 6 runs and scoring 5 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Costa Rica manager Bobby K. said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Chase Quander grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Juan Ortega in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Juan Montiel in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Jesus Rojo in the 9th.
