DeLaRosa Whiffs 17, Gallup Tops Atlanta

Gallup Pirates starter Jerry DeLaRosa brought his best stuff to CoolToday Park against the Atlanta Braves, striking out 17 batters in his club's 18-1 victory.
In a strong performance, the 19-year-old DeLaRosa gave up 3 hits in his 8 innings of work and issued 2 walks.
"I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my sinker was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me."
On the season, DeLaRosa has a 3-0 record with a 2.84 ERA.
