Saslove Shuts Out Pilots, 9-0
Saturday, August 14th , 2032
There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching.
Arnie Saslove of the Greer Goats blanked the Dorval Pilots, 9-0, at Bank of the James Stadium, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 7-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles.
"I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Saslove said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance."
Saslove walked 2 and struck out 12 in the victory.
"He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Pilots manager David Tufo said later.
In 6 starts this season, Saslove has notched a 3-2 record and a 1.09 ERA.
