Fresco Shuts Out Barons, 2-0 Saturday, September 4th , 2032 The Birmingham Barons met their match today in Boulder hurler Lineu Fresco. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 1-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Birmingham skipper Steve Adams said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 2-0 victory, Fresco whiffed 8 and gave up no walks. This year, Fresco has earned no saves, worked 186.1 innings, fanned 211 hitters and recorded a 3.62 ERA. He has also put up a 13-7 won-lost mark. |
