Stoddart, #1 Wreck Communists, 12-1
Due in large part to right fielder Kevin Stoddart, the Taiwan #1 sunk the Leningrad Communists, 12-1. Stoddart was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. With the win over Leningrad , the #1 improved to 28-24.

Stoddart contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Taiwan in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Stoddart took a slider from Luis Ibarra and stroked the home run to center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the #1 to leap in front, 4-1.

"We hit the ball hard," said Taiwan manager Josh Van Blarcom. "Line drive after line drive."
