Whataburger Field was the scene of the Corpus Christi Hooks's Round 1 triumph tonight.

The team has eliminated the Frisco RoughRiders 3-1 to advance to the Round 2. Corpus Christi won the final game by a margin of 1-0 to clinch.

Kobe Robinson was named series MVP for a strong pitching performance that included a 0.00 ERA over 5.1 innings pitched, with 10 strikeouts and a 1-0 record.

"More of that hopefully to come," he told reporters after the series concluded. "I'll take as many personal trophies as I can as long as we win this thing."

The Corpus Christi Hooks don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pahrump Nuggets - Northwest Arkansas Naturals series. Pahrump leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
