Flores Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Boston's 31-7 victory over the Annapolis Assholes, first baseman Juan Flores told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the JABO Winter League-level is really something special."

The 5-year-old player earned his accolades at Pittsburgh Grounds with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Assholes.

"His swing is getting there," said Shamrocks skipper Sergio Salvatierra, who spoke glowingly of Flores after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Juan did that to perfection."

Juan Flores singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Jorge Molina in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Molina in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

Looking at his present stats, Flores has compiled a .442 batting average in 24 games with a .532 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 50 runs.
