Crowley Stars for Shamrocks in 20-4 Win
The Boston Shamrocks beat the Leningrad Communists, 20-4, at Pittsburgh Grounds. The Shamrocks got a fine performance from third baseman Geoff Crowley, who was 4-6 with 3 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Sam Joseph got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. With the win, Boston climbs to 7-1.

Crowley contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Boston in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-1, Crowley took a splitter from Josh Swain and stroked the double to right-center. His 6th double of the season allowed the Shamrocks to leap in front, 3-2.

"This was one of those games you love to be a part of," said Crowley.
