Lara Belts 5 Hits Thursday, June 18th , 2043 5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Minnesota (DSL)'s Ernesto Lara made it happen against the Pirates 2. Everything came together at the plate for the 19-year-old left fielder as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and helped the Twins triumph, 8-7, at Baseball City Complex. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Lara said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Ernesto Lara hit a two-run triple in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 10th and singled in the 12th. For the year, Lara has hit .380 with no home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 5 runs. |
