Rowlands Gets 5 Hits Monday, August 31st , 2043 Jon Rowlands really sizzled at the plate in his team's 9-0 win over the Dayton Dragons. The South Bend catcher blistered Dayton for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Rowlands was too tough to get out today," the Dragons skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Jon Rowlands doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. On the year, Rowlands has hit .329 with 17 home runs, 57 RBIs and scored 78 runs. |
