Tulsa Moves on to Round 2 Wednesday, September 20th , 2045 The joy and relief on the faces of the Tulsa Drillers players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 1 win over the Springfield Cardinals. "In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Tulsa third baseman Bobby Byrd, shortly after the 1-0 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done." The team is now off to the Round 2. Byrd won series MVP honors on the strength of his .526 batting average during the series. He also had a .550 on-base percentage and 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Tulsa Drillers will play against the Amarillo Sod Poodles in the next round. Amarillo won their series against the Midland RockHounds 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
