Flying Squirrels End Arias Streak Monday, June 23rd , 2042 Raul Arias, right fielder for the Altoona Curve, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Not only did the Flying Squirrels break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Altoona by the score of 3-1. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Arias said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Currently Arias has 10 home runs and a .299 batting average. |
