Satake Blasts 3 into Bleachers
Sunday, August 9th , 2043
El Paso Chihuahuas shortstop Chris Satake sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Las Vegas Aviators, Satake told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Satake pushed the Chihuahuas past the Aviators, 13-1. To go along with the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Satake told reporters after the game.
Chris Satake singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Jordan in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Jordan in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jason Moore in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Satake is batting .417 with 5 home runs.
