Hickory center fielder Manny Guerra could do no wrong in his team's 9-4 win over the Ironbirds, as he collected 5 hits.

"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Ironbirds skipper Victor Hamlyn said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."

Guerra agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.

"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

Manny Guerra hit a GRAND SLAM off Chris Bantle in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Tobias Rodriguez in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.

For the season, Guerra has hit .244 with 15 home runs and 50 RBIs. He has played in 116 games and scored 44 times.
